Would you be interested in a birthday party pack based on a zany fairy tale with roots in the German culture? Or a party pack for St. Nicholas Day for a family-friendly activity in the busy time before the Christmas holidays?
In the mean time, here's the question:
Would you be interested in a birthday party pack based on A Seven Kingdoms Fairy Tale adventure?
Are party themes a thing for you? Do you like them? Our upstairs neighbors had a dinosaur-themed party in the backyard a few weeks ago, like the ones my kids used to have.
There was the NASA party with empty-toilet-paper-roll rockets and freeze-dried ice cream and NASA name tags.
And the one about an imaginary trip to Germany, where the kids made paper travel wallets with passports and we recycled our old paper airline tickets.
You remember the ones you ripped along the perforation? The wonderful rippling sound that means adventure is about to happen. These days, we get the electronic beep of the scanner.
For that party, every guest got a “seat assignment” on the “plane” (the floor of my husband’s office) and we showed slides of the plane arriving in Germany.
No kid ever needed the words for “Do you have anything to declare?” So, our guests made kid-friendly German phrasebooks that included words for ice cream flavors, playground equipment, and other important stuff.Â
“How are you going to top this?” My neighbor asked while we were building an (extremely inaccurate!) teepee in the backyard and eating popcorn. A kid-friendly Native American invention.
My overactive imagination can’t seem to stop. #writerproblems
All these memories of parties got my imagination cooking again and I need your advice. I’ve been thinking about making downloadable party packs for the Seven Kingdoms Fairy Tales that include things like an invitation design, an activity and snack and copies of the ebook for all the guests.Â
(Print books might also work if that would be interesting. Or an audiobook to listen at the party?)
How does that strike you? What do the kids think? Does it sound fun? Would it be convenient to have everything in one place for a fresh and fun, themed party?
Lost With Leeks would be perfect for a holiday celebration!
For Ages 9 to 12.
A Party Pack (or a Birthday Party Pack) could include:
- Invitations and decoration ideas (“hot air balloons” for the win!)
- The German customs for St. Nicholas Day (Clean those boots! 🙂 the night before
- Easy ideas for filling the “boots”Â
- A recipe and video for baking “bread guys” for a fun party activity or just for the family
- Ideas for the kids to get ready for gift-giving like making gift tags 🙂Â
- A copy of Lost With Leeks (ebook) as a party favor for each guest
