When you’re on an extraordinary adventure, it’s funny how an overlooked skill can help.
Running readers through the emotional wringer is not the goal. These family-friendly stories are designed to be playful, with nonsensical–yet logical–twists and turns. Their anything-is-possible tone is inspired by young readers’ powerful and creative brains.

“An engaging read that works on so many different levels. Can’t wait for the rest in series to add to my classroom bookshelf!”

“As someone who has no sense of direction, I love that Nero is directionally challenged. . .hope there are more books to follow.”

“Whimsy and adventure at every turn! . . . another wonderful read.”

“I loved the idea of the Seven Kingdoms . . . allowing children to make the rules and legally upholding them . . . I found myself wanting to adopt a baby dragon myself. I know children will feel the same way because he was just too irresistible . . . I highly recommend this story!” [5 stars]

“Gr 4-7–Decher’s fourth book in the “Seven Kingdoms” series is a zany story of ingenuity and collaboration . . .”
–Jen McConnel, School Library Journal
New in 2024!
Laurel Decher lives in the outskirts of a mid-sized city in Germany, between a medieval chapel on St. James’ Way and a boundary marker tree complete with scary face. It’s a little surprising, since she expected to live in Vermont for the rest of her life. You never know when adventure will call.
Her books are about taking advantage of opportunities that scare us (or that we are positive aren’t for us.) *cough* Because these are the risks make life richer and more magical. Every kid knows that. 🙂
Let the Seven
Kingdoms
