The "Geisterpass" or Ghost Passport for kids for German castles

Kids can get a super cute Ghost Passport called “Geister Pass” and collect stamps as your family travels around the World Heritage Site called the Middle Rhine Valley.

You can download a PDF of the passport. The printed booklet is available at participating castles, gift shops, and tourist offices in the area. Ask at the cashier.

The General Direktion Kulturelles Erbe (GDKE) website says the spooky passport invites families and other ghost experts to get involved in the search for ghosts Willi and Fritzi, and hidden messages. To get your passport stamped, climb the 36-meter tall main tower of the Pfalzgrafenstein castle and have your picture taken with Willi and Fritzi.

Then click two more gray buttons to get into the designer.

You’ll have to drag a gray shape over to the + sign to get started.

If you make one, feel free to share online!

There are more games and crafts on the GDKE website. Some of them require more German-language ability than others.
